Fr. Jacob Degele, BRCS School Chaplain

Fr. Jacob Degele hails from Dickinson, North Dakota. After graduating from Trinity High School in 2013, he attended the University of
North Dakota for one year before entering seminary formation.
While at St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota,
Fr. Degele studied at the University of St. Thomas, obtaining a bachelor's degree in philosophy. His final four years of seminary were spent in St. Louis, Missouri, at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.

Fr. Degele graduated from Kenrick-Glennon in May 2021 with an M.A. in Theology and an M.A. in Divinity. He was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ by Bishop David Kagan at the Cathedral in Bismarck on
June 11th, 2021, and his first assignment brought him to Minot as an Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a part-time instructor at Bishop Ryan Catholic School. After two years in those roles, Fr. Degele was named the Associate Pastor at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and Chaplain at Bishop Ryan.

Fr. Degele shares, "I am excited to continue ministering to the students and staff at Bishop Ryan, especially in this new capacity as a spiritual father to the community. Please pray for me!"
